Mark Korkko
Mr. Korkko is Property Manager for Molpus Timberlands Management responsible for the management of 68,000 acres in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He graduated from Michigan Technological University School of Forestry in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry concentrating in resource management and land surveying. Upon graduation, he started his tenure at Mead Paper in Michigan where he served in a variety of roles. The most notable experience he gained was in wood products sales and marketing.
Mr. Korkko also acquired valuable experience in inventory, procurement and land management. He eventually transferred to Maine to become the Log Sales Administrator for all of Mead’s log marketing in the New England ownership. He also supervised a wood delivery yard to better market wood products. In 1999, Mr. Korkko relocated back to Michigan as a Log Buyer and developed a purchasing area for Interforest Corporation, a Global producer of sliced veneers until 2003. Since that time, he has served in a variety of Procurement Forester positions purchasing standing timber and cut logs from private and public sources, most recently with Midwest Hardwood Corporation out of Houghton, Michigan. Mark began his career on the properties he now currently manages for Molpus.
