Jim DeWit
Mr. DeWit is Director of Land Management and Manager of selected Alabama and Mississippi properties for Molpus Timberlands Management, LLC.
In his role as Director of Land Management, he is responsible for planning and executing silvicultural strategies on lands owned by Molpus Timberlands Management, LLC clients, as well as other land management administrative functions such as hunting leases and rights-of-way. Additionally, Mr. DeWit coordinates the silvicultural research conducted on properties managed by the company and serves as the liaison with the various university research cooperatives to which the company belongs. Mr. DeWit was previously employed by the Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Scott Paper Company (Scott) for a combined 13 years. He was most recently an Area Manager with direct responsibility for a 75,000 acre land base. He also oversaw Scott’s soil classification program as the Manager of Soil and Silvicultural Programs. Mr. DeWit received a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Resource Management from Iowa State University in 1976 and a Master of Science degree in Forest Soils and Silviculture from Mississippi State University in 1983.
